CAP’s 2018 Peer Leadership Summer Workshop will take place on Thursday June 21st from 8:30-2:30 and Friday June 22nd from 8:30-12:00 at the Riverhead Firehouse. Since 1987, CAP has been training 8th grade and high school students to participate in a monthly alcohol and drug abuse prevention education program for all 5th and 6th grade students in Pulaski Street School. Topics addressed in the workshop will be: communication skills, understanding of feelings and self-esteem as they relate to substance abuse, role-playing, public speaking, team building, leadership skills, and coping with stress. The workshop will provide the opportunity to perform each of these activities, not just talk about them.
