2019 Pre-Prom Meeting & Expo II
Date: Wednesday May 1
Location: Riverhead High School Auditorium, 700 Harrison Ave, Riverhead, NY 11901
Riverhead Community Awareness Program, Inc. (CAP), in partnership with Riverhead High School and Peconic Bay Medical Center (PBMC) Health Foundation, will hold its 2019 Pre-Prom Meeting and Expo for parents and 12th grade students planning to attend this year’s senior prom. This is the second of two presentations; parents and students are only required to attend one. Parents and students will receive important information about the social, emotional, physical, and legal risks and consequences of underage drinking. Guest speakers for this presentation include Dr. Lincoln Cox, Emergency Department Chief at PBMC – Northwell Health, and Sgt. Jonathan Devereaux and Police Office Byron Perez, both of Riverhead Police Department.
After the presentation, students will have the opportunity to purchase their prom tickets and meet with local businesses that provide prom services i.e. florists, salons, tux rental etc. There will be giveaways for the students and a set of prom tickets will be raffled.
It’s important to know and share the risks of underage drinking no matter what your child’s age. Resources to address this issue at every age can be found here.
