Medication Take Back Events
The Riverhead Youth Coalition helps raise awareness about dangers associated with prescription and over-the-counter drug abuse by assisting the Riverhead Police Department in the organization and promotion of Medication Take Back Events. Medication Take Back events help communities safely dispose of their unwanted, unused, and expired medication. This is an effective way to prevent prescription drug abuse and accidental poisoning. We collected 107 pounds of medication at our September 16th Take Back event at Tanger Outlets.
